Hektor wrote: Fri Feb 27, 2026 7:52 pm That's odd. You argue that "Sonderbehandlung" meant Euthanasia, yet the documents you cite or show don't use Sonderbehandlung at alll.
The Administrative Context of Sonderbehandlung

The claim that the term Sonderbehandlung (Special Treatment) was merely "jumped on" out of desperation ignores the specific administrative and legal framework of the camp system. The term was formally codified under Aktion 14f13 (also documented as Sonderbehandlung 14f13). This was the administrative extension of the T4 programme into the concentration camps, where the sick, the elderly, and those deemed arbeitsunfähig (unfit for work) were systematically culled.

The Legal Fear: From "Euthanasia" to Murder

It is important to note that the Nazi leadership was acutely aware that "euthanasia" or "mercy killing" (Gnadentod) could be legally misconstrued as murder (Mord) by the German judiciary and the public—particularly the churches. Because of this legal sensitivity, the term "mercy killing" was scrubbed from official bureaucratic titles and replaced with the more clinical and ambiguous "Sonderbehandlung". This allowed the state to operate outside the traditional penal code by framing the killing of prisoners as a standard administrative procedure.

Evidence in Documentation

While some argue the word has been "wrongly ascribed" to mass killing, the historical record shows that the term was a deliberate euphemism used to mask lethal actions in official paperwork.

SS Record-Keeping Manuals

Bouhler instructed Oberdienstleiter Viktor Brack... to implement the new order... The scheme operated under the Concentration Camps Inspector and the Reichsführer-SS under the name "Sonderbehandlung 14f13". The combination of numbers and letters was derived from the SS record-keeping system: 14 for the Concentration Camps Inspector, f for deaths (Todesfälle), and 13 for the cause of death—killing by poison gas in the T4 killing centers.

Adolf Eichmann’s Definition
During his 1961 trial, Eichmann admitted that while the term had general logistical uses, its primary meaning within the camp system was lethal:
"Sonderbehandlung" means the transportation in general, the deportation... And special treatment also means killing, yes. But all of these things... IV B 4 could neither influence nor prevent nor promote.

The Korherr Report (1943)
The term appears in the Korherr Report, which provided the statistical accounting of the "Final Solution." In section 5, Korherr specifically categorises Sonderbehandlung as a distinct entity from overall evacuations:
"Evakuierungen insgesamt (einschl. Theresienstadt und einschl. Sonderbehandlung) — 1,873,549 Juden."

The "Smoking Gun": Himmler’s Redaction

The most damning evidence that Sonderbehandlung was an incriminating term for killing is Heinrich Himmler’s direct order to remove it from the Korherr Report before it was shown to Hitler. Himmler instructed that it be replaced with the word durchgeschleust ("processed") to maintain the camouflage of the operation.
"The Reichsführer-SS [Himmler] wishes that in no place should 'special treatment of the Jews' be mentioned. It must be called 'transportation of the Jews toward the Russian East'..."

The Reality of "Mercy Killing" in the Camps

Finally, we must look at who was receiving this "special treatment." In many cases, these killings were applied to those who had become terminally ill through the camp system’s own systematic failures. This included victims of grueling transports who suffered from acute renal failure (such as the Corfu Jews) and the Muselmänner—prisoners whose bodies had broken down from starvation and exhaustion to the point of no return. Within the twisted logic of the Konzentrationslager, "Special Treatment" was the bureaucratic tool used to liquidate those the state had already rendered "life unworthy of life." It are these conditions which are the basis of ongong research

Closing Statement

The argument that Sonderbehandlung was not synonymous with killing fails because the Nazis themselves treated the word as an admission of a crime. They abandoned "euthanasia" to avoid the legal definition of murder, and they eventually abandoned "special treatment" because the euphemism had become too transparent. The term wasn't "jumped on" by historians; it was a carefully managed piece of linguistic camouflage designed to bridge the gap between state policy and industrialised killing which was terminating the lives of those terminally ill.

At least some attempt at citing documents. But More obfuscation. more innuendo. one jumps to a wikipedia article were claims are made without showing original documents, not even pointing to them. Argue in a straight line. Cite documents were that means killing and I mean original documents from that era.

My argument still stands. Sonderbehandlung simply means treatment different from others. It is indeed not synonymous with killing, which doesn't exclude that it can not mean that. You have not shown that this was an 'admission' of a crime. Well, it simply isn't.

Korherr: special treatment

Himmler: we should probably say transportation here, we don't want anybody confused.

Historians: visible confusion

Korherr: let me clarify, when I said transported, I meant transported and resettled.

Everybody: it's obviously code for murder...
If I were to guess why no t4 personnel were chosen to perform gassing that had experience with gassing, it would be because THERE WERE NONE.

You asked for a 'straight line' and original era documents where Sonderbehandlung is synonymous with killing. Here is the documentary evidence from the RSHA and the camp inspectorate:

1. The RSHA Directive (September 20, 1939)

In the original decree regarding the 'treatment' of the civilian population in occupied Poland, the RSHA (Reich Security Main Office) explicitly defined the term in its own paperwork:

'Sonderbehandlung (d.h. Exekution)' — 'Special treatment (i.e., execution).'
This is not a modern interpretation; it is the perpetrator’s own parenthetical definition in an original state document.

2. The 14f13 Filing Key (Nuremberg Document PS-1151)
The alphanumeric code 14f13 isn't a 'claim'; it is the official filing system of the Inspekteur der Konzentrationslager (IKL).
14: The reference for the Inspectorate of Concentration Camps.
f: The reference for Todesfälle (deaths).
13: The specific designation for 'Special Treatment' of sick and frail prisoners via gas in T4 facilities.
This was a codified administrative 'cause of death' used in original camp registries to document the 'mercy killing' of those deemed arbeitsunfähig (unfit for work).

3. The 'Admission of Crime' (Nuremberg Document NO-5193)

You claim it wasn't an 'admission of a crime.' If that were true, why did Himmler’s personal staff (Rudolf Brandt) order its removal from the Korherr Report on April 10, 1943?

Himmler explicitly ordered the term replaced with durchgeschleust ('processed') to provide camouflage (Tarnung) before the report reached the Führer. If the word 'simply meant different treatment,' there would be no bureaucratic need to redact it as 'incriminating' (belastend).

Does this mean Hitler didn't want to read that those millions of Jews had been murdered? Why?

Have you heard the revisionist reasons for this? For Rudolf and others, Himmler wanted to hide from Hitler that they had lost that many Jews from the advance in the USSR who had gone to the interior of Russia; this would explain the discrepancy in the total number of Jews scattered around the world and when adding up the number of Jews from individual countries.

Why Hide the Word from Hitler?

The "Lost in Russia" theory is a diversion. The documentary evidence shows Himmler was hiding a legal and administrative nightmare.

1. The "Small Match" vs. The Forest Fire

Hitler’s 1939 Euthanasia Memorandum was a targeted "mercy" authorization for a limited number of incurably sick children. It was a "small match." However, the SS expanded this into Aktion 14f13 to cull millions of "unproductive" inmates.

Himmler redacted the term Sonderbehandlung (Special Treatment) because the RSHA (Sept 20, 1939) had explicitly defined it as "Execution" (d.h. Exekution). Himmler knew Hitler did not expect his small memorandum to be expanded to such a massive scale. By replacing "Special Treatment" with "Processed" (durchgeschleust), Himmler hid the fact that the SS was conducting a mass cull to "solve" the terminal illness caused by the state's own incompetence.

2. The "Incompetence" Facade

The victims—like the Muselmänner or the Corfu Jews—were only "terminally ill" because of systematic failures.
Starvation: Reich decrees diverted food to the military, leaving inmates with only 80% of required calories.
Dehydration: The FPLO (Fahrplanordnung) schedules prove the 18-day transport of the Corfu Jews involved total dehydration.
Biological reality dictates that renal failure begins after 72 hours without water. When 1,200 victims arrived in terminal collapse, they were "culled" under the 14f13 protocol. Himmler hid the term Sonderbehandlung because it was an admission of industrialised killing to cover up the results of state-managed starvation and neglect.

The Evidence
Himmler’s "Smoking Gun" Redaction
On April 10, 1943, Himmler's office (Nuremberg Document NO-5193) ordered the term Sonderbehandlung removed from the Korherr Report.

"The Reichsführer-SS wishes that in no place should 'special treatment' be mentioned. It must be called 'transportation... toward the Russian East'..." Holocaust Research

This proves "transportation to the East" was the camouflage (Tarnung) for the Jews in German custody. They weren't "lost in the interior" of Russia as Solzhenitsyn (AS) noted of the Soviet deportees; they were documented on Reichsbahn lines ending at the Sola and Vistula.

The false dichotomy between 'Revisionist' and 'Exterminationist' is an unnecessary barrier for anyone genuinely concerned with uncovering the reality of the times. If we move past embedded ideological positions, the primary sources—the FPLO schedules, the 14f13 alphanumeric codes, and the 1939 Euthanasia Memorandum—reveal a much more complex and disturbing picture than either side often admits.

The reality wasn't just a 'plan for murder'; it was a record of catastrophic state incompetence and systematic neglect that manufactured terminal illness on an industrial scale. The 'Special Treatment' was the clinical, bureaucratic 'solution' to a human breakdown caused by the regime's own logistical failures, especially in war time.

When we stop arguing over labels and start looking at the Reichsbahn's own documentation and the biological reality of renal failure, the 'mass grave' obsession disappears. It is replaced by the industrial current of the Sola and Vistula. Those truly interested in history don't need a dichotomy; they only need the evidence.

I thought Holohoaxers were confined to the "Holocaust Debate" part of this forum.
So why is Nazgul allowed to post his endless AI-generated exterminationist distortions in this thread?
