Why were PWD troops continuing to generate anti-German propaganda after the fight was won?
The letter, apparently sent to the office of the Army's intel chief in Europe, reads:
To his credit, Kehm only wanted the story used "if official investigation" confirmed its truth. This accords with what historians wrote about Kehm -- that he preferred truthful propaganda. Still, I wonder who the "reliable source" was that told him this. I see nothing to indicate the story was used, so perhaps someone judged it false or inconclusive. As it turns out, current consensus is that the nurse "died in deportation" on November 23. (See here, here, or here.)1. A reliable source has reported to me that Madame Schwob, nee Javal Sabine, nurse (S.B.M.), a Jewess, born 2 Feburary 1907, was confined by the Germans at Drancy (near Paris) on 20 February 1943. From Drancy she was sent to the Auschwitz concentration camp accompanying sick political prisoners, arriving there 21 November 1943. It is alleged that immediately upon arrival the prisoners and the nurse were taken to a gas chamber and put to death.
2. It is felt that if official investigation determines that the facts are as alleged, a case will be established valuable both for propaganda and for the information of our troops.
3. It is requested that this office be informed whether or not the facts are as alleged. Details are not necessarily required.

In any case, this is one of the most frank admissions I've seen about the usage of Holocaust propaganda.
