David Cole's Substack

Post by fireofice »

David Cole has a substack here:

https://bestservedcole.substack.com/

Some of his posts deal with holocaust denial and arguing against it. One example:

https://bestservedcole.substack.com/p/c ... me-out-for

That article is a response to this article and various exchanges he had with the author:

https://counter-currents.com/2022/11/da ... narrative/

Here he gives a chronology of his holocaust related activities:

https://bestservedcole.substack.com/p/t ... chronology

As you'd probably be able to tell from reading it, his posts are basically rehashing the orthodox position on the holocaust, mainly the Reinhardt camps and Einsatzgruppen killings with a lot of added snark.

I don't have much comment on it, but I figured it would be of some interest to members here.

Operation Reinhard and Einsatzgruppen have been the refuge of Holocaust believers. There are no mass graves, no photos of Aktion 1005, just a bunch of suspicious documents conveniently found.

Dave is very interested in promoting himself and comes off as quite miserable (admittedly so). If he brings any new evidence or interpretations worth discussing, please do share them here (I have found some perspectives of his to be very insightful, at times), but I'm not interested in his humor, his life stories, etc., and that is impossible to avoid when reading his articles.

Cole is still living off the fumes of being a formerly prominent Jewish Holocaust revisionist. Apart from this, he is completely irrelevant in the revisionist space, and none of his new positions are original or haven't been dealt with by revisionist scholars. Part of the problem is that Cole isn't well-read on new revisionist research. As you said, he's just rehashing orthodox talking points.

Cole started the Substack right around the time he got banned from YouTube (early 2023). Most revisionists got banned on YouTube way before that (like 2019), so it was a bit strange they let him stay on and then banned him out of the blue a few years later. He had some very long videos where he tried to make a case for his revisionism-lite position but I couldn't ever get through them. It seems his goal was to convince "deniers" to moderate to revisionism-lite, but that's not the preferred strategy since you might simultaneously make some believers in the basic six million version start moving toward revisionism.

Cole's book Republican Party Animal also seems to have been banned on Amazon. I have an old Kindle version of it but it looks like you can't buy it anymore.

I have not been following his Substack at all, but I remember reading this article on Shermer early on.

There's some interesting stuff in there, but I had heard most of it before. I used some of Shermer's admissions in the Unz article and made a related X post about it.
