If the number of non-Jews was agreed upon as a strategy to draw the countries into Jewish suffering, how much more so was the number of 6 million agreed upon? It served a broad purpose; that number was already in circulation; they were too lazy to establish others; it served religious and Kabbalistic purposes typical of their own.
