Dietrich Eckart (1868–1923), an anti-Semitic German playwright and nationalist, was one of Hitler’s mentors, having a teacher-student relationship with him; he was an ideologue of National Socialism and the spiritual leader of the movement during its early years. Although he was forgotten by history due to his lack of relevance in events after 1933, he was undoubtedly an important figure for the party and for Hitler, who paid him a posthumous tribute. Members of the Hitler Youth also visited his grave.



Well, what concerns us about Eckart is a court case from 1921. Around that time, Eckart publicly offered a reward of 1,000 RM to anyone who could name a Jewish family that had sent three sons to the front and who had been fighting there for more than three weeks. The rabbi of Hanover, Samuel Freund, showed him a list of 20 Jewish families who met this requirement, and in addition, showed him another 50 Jewish families who had sent several sons to the front and lost some of them. Eckart refused to pay, was reported, and lost the case, being forced to pay. Were these the “Jewish subversives” Hitler complained about? Jews who spoke German, went to war for Germany, and overwhelmingly married outside their own community? Food for thought...

In 1921, Samuel Freund took a leading role in the German Jewish community's response to the anti-Semitic charges of Dietrich Eckart, editor of Auf gut Deutsch. Eckart, looking to spread the calumny that Jews had not contributed to the German war effort during World War I, offered a prize of 1,000 marks for proof that even a single Jewish family had sent three sons into the army to fight for more than three weeks.

Dr. Freund also presented a list of 50 families from various communities, some of which sent seven and eight sons to the trenches and had lost three sons in the service of their country."[4]

Eckart refused to pay the 1,000 marks. The Patriotic League of Jewish Frontline Veterans brought a lawsuit against him and, in 1924, they prevailed. Ordered by a German court to pay 1,000 marks to the Jewish veterans group, Eckart complied.

A single rabbi with schizophrenia is no proof of anything. The Russian Revolution was neither financed nor led by Jews, but primarily by Russians, Caucasians, Ukrainians, and Balts. Stalin was Georgian and executed Jewish Soviet officials such as Yagoda. There is no evidence of Jewish dominance in Marxist movements, which were supported primarily by white Christian workers.

Antisemitism in the Russian Empire existed both culturally and institutionally. The Jews were restricted to live within the Pale of Settlement, and they also suffered pogroms.[16]

According to the 1922 Bolshevik party census, there were 19,564 Jewish Bolsheviks, comprising 5.21% of the total, and in the 1920s of the 417 members of the Central Executive Committee, the party Central Committee, the Presidium of the Executive of the Soviets of the USSR and the Russian Republic, the People's Commissars, 6% were ethnic Jews.[21] Between 1936 and 1940, during the Great Purge, Yezhovshchina and after the rapprochement with Nazi Germany, Stalin had largely eliminated Jews from senior party, government, diplomatic, security and military positions.[22]
