1968 Documentary of Auschwitz Birkenau Excavation

Post by Stubble »

Well fellas, in 1968 a polish company was sent in to help gather evidence if I recall correctly. They gathered evidence by doing some excavations, doing bore sampling etc. They even removed the rubble from Krema III LK-1, they may have also removed the rubble from LK-2. I don't recall and I still can't find the report anywhere.

Apparently, they brought a film crew along. They made a short film called Archeologia;

https://m.imdb.com/name/nm0117511/

Directed by Andrzej Brzozowski.

I was wondering if anyone here had seen it or knew where a copy could be viewed.

Thank you for your time.

Also, don't forget to go watch the Holocaust Summit in the morning. Archie, the banner looks nice man, and the links are handy. It'll be hard for anyone to miss that one.
If I were to guess why no t4 personnel were chosen to perform gassing that had experience with gassing, it would be because THERE WERE NONE.

This is it.

Archeologia (Andrzej Brzozowski, 1968)

Matches the IMDB description as being a short, and other info as being a silent film (no music or dialog).

The crucifix from the cover is shown in the video at 11:25.

Run time is short. I wonder what they trimmed. I have a run time of 26 and change listed compared to the 14 odd minutes.

Also, THANK YOU. I have now seen at least some of it.

Odd that this is from some random person and in 2024.

One would think this film would be significant for the orthodoxy since it shows a pre trial archeological excavation of the crime scene.

/shrug

I guess they can't all be zingers.

Indeed, but then it's pretty obviously a dramatization of archaeological work. Well, imagine this would have made the rounds in the 70s / 80s... People would have asked for the results and findings of that type of research.

I was rather hoping to get a look at the floors in the LK's of Krema III and at the bore samples from where the team drilled to 'prove up' mass pyres.

This could still come from the study, if it were ever made public.

Looks period correct - the archeologists lights up a cigarette as he gets to work.
