This fellow deserves his own thread;

'Proven At Nuremberg'...

Some background on 'poison bullets', not unlike gas vans, a Soviet invention.
As it turned out, the man should have committed an assassination attempt on SS-Gruppenführer Curt Gustav Friedrich Walther von Gottberg. He received all his equipment by courier from Moscow. The bullets were filled with poison and would be deadly even with the slightest wound. He had received three cartridges, but had three more left from his previous mission. Accordingly, the Russians had probably used such ammunition more often in assassinations.

I've been meaning to start one since the 'experimental gassing film' thread. He's quite a caricature of a person. The 'diabolical evil nazi' as it were. Playing his 'character' kept him from the gallows though...

Here's the 'Holocaust Encyclopedia' entry for him as well;
If Widmann really developed, in 1939, the murder method for euthanasia killings in German’s mental institutions, and if those had been working very reliably for two years by late 1941, then why did Widmann have to travel 1,000 km east to try some insane methods to find out how best to kill mental patients there?
