The CODOH Revisionist Forum

There is a limit on the total size of file attachments (75 mb) and it looks like we hit that recently. This limit is arbitrary and can be changed, but it would probably be better not to use the forum database as default photo storage as this will over time cause it to balloon in size.

I will probably expand the limit for attachments pretty soon. In the meantime, please post photos to the file hosting service of your choice. This is the one I usually use. It's very clean and they allow you to upload without registration.

At some point I would like to set up some sort of file storage for us to use for important files.

Perhaps a 'research' section could be added to the parent website of CODOH and important files could be hosted there and cross linked.

Another option might be to use the tiered membership system and give admins the option to host important files natively at CODOHforum.

I would caution against letting users add files as I could see it leading to bloat.

Personally, I'm quite happy to use postimages.org for images. It cuts use of valuable forum resources and it doesn't create any burden on users.

I do have a fear that the forum may eventually be delisted, but, currently things are looking good.

Some type of cloud sharing service for members of a 'think tank' or 'research group' might also be worth considering/investigating.
