Is the Persecution of Whites in South Africa Genocide?

There is a 'situation' in South Africa with the White Boer population. They are having their property expropriated through the government and there are ethnically motivated farm murders periodically.
The question becomes, is this genocide?
Personally I feel the situation is 2 rungs on the escalation ladder from the current definition of 'genocide', although I also argue that the current definition is overly broad and my personal definition is 'an extermination campaign against an ethnic group by a state or army'.
The situation in South Africa, while horrible in it's own right, does not yet rise to the level of genocide, racial persecution seems a better descriptor to me.
Some background;
This is a documentary by Laura Southern. Having interacted with Boers, and watched the issue and the brushfire grow over the last 20 odd years, it is my opinion the documentary, while accurate, uses too broad a definition for genocide.
This of course is just my opinion, and I'm sure there are those that hold a different opinion on the matter.
