The Tattooist of Auschwitz is a 2018 book by New Zealand author Heather Morris. It purports to be the "true story" of one Lale Sokolov, who was imprisoned at Auschwitz in 1942. In fact, Heather Morris reliability first to last and the reliability of the Series is questioned by the Auschwitz State Museum.

It is reasonable to label "The Tattooist of Auschwitz" a disgraceful Holocaust exploitation job.The book [by Heather Morris] was promoted as a "true story". In practice, however, the text's relation to the realities of the camp was at least questionable, and the historical accuracy was not merely questionable but false...
The errors documented...indicate the author's deficiency in historical knowledge and research skills..."
