They are associated, but I don't think they are 'equated'. Any informed observer will realize that Zionism is a political point of View and Judaism is a religion. That Zionism took points from religious traditions is another matter.

Who are the "Hebrew Israelites" supposed to be? - 'Jews'...? They are essentially descendants from people that converted to Judaism at some stage.
Travis wrote: Fri Jun 05, 2026 5:20 pm It must be understood that Zionism is not the same thing as Judaism. Indeed, the argument could be made that Judaism is naturally opposed to the zionist movement we are seeing today.
As said, that isn't alleged. Zionism is essentially a movement that favors Jews having a state for themselves. Plenty of varieties are possible. The critique against is fueled by Jews taking the land of others and then saying it is 'their state'. And they justify that with a narrative of being the innocent victims of others.

Depending what brands of Judaism one deals with, they will argue for or against it as well.
Travis wrote: Fri Jun 05, 2026 5:20 pmWestern governments of today seem to deliberately conflate the two, as though to be against the zionist movement is inherently anti-semitic. Anyone who criticizes Israel or the war in the Middle east is immediately called anti-semitic and suspect in the eyes of law enforcement agencies.

This has been done deliberately. Where in Western Governments is anti-zionism tolerated? Answer: nowhere. And that is because Western Civilization has been infiltrated by political Zionism which is bankrupting our countries in order to fund a never-ending war in the Middle East.
That is psychologizing it. Arguments can be made for or against Zionism. Whether a person likes or dislikes Jews is totally irrelevant. Although it can motivate a stance.

Ironically the National Socialists are commonly accused of 'hating Jews' - Yet, they had no problem with a Jewish State in principle. In fact, Adolf Hitler suggested in speeches that Jews should have their own state and 'work for themselves' there...

Well, one still needs to say what "Judaism" is. Because there is plenty of misconceptions about it. Especially among some brands of Christianity. One misconception is that present day Judaism is somehow the religion of the Old Testament. That isn't really true. The religion of the OT always included blood sacrifices, Which Jews, at least not openly, do not practice today. What Judaism is, is actually a religion that started as movement against Christianity, which lead to rabbinic Judaism as formulated in the Talmud and has an advanced stage as Kabbalah, which is a form of occult Mysticism. The later was also a factor in previous persecutions of Jews.
