I would also like to point out the obvious about this document, just in case readers might be interested.
What is highly interesting is that in the Foreword (Vorwort) of the 1943 Dötzer textbook, both
Dr. Bruno Tesch, and the infamous SS hygiene degreed-engineer expert, SS-Obersturmführer
Kurt Gerstein are both acknowledged.
This is highly important to the story, as we know that Dr. Tesch was hanged by the British in 1946, and because Gerstein apparently hanged himself in French captivity in 1945 after giving a weird-beyond-belief series of statements.
A side note also. One of Gerstein's cringey statements was that 25 million people were gassed by the German government during the war.
Gerstein got this factoid from his boss, SS-Standartenführer
Dr. Wilhelm Pfannenstiel, a University of Marburg pathologist and professor.
In 1944, Professor Pfannenstiel delivered a boilerpate professional paper on wartime hygiene measures. Pfannenstiel states that up to that time in the war, 25 million travellers have had their belongings gassed to control the spread of diseases and disease vectors. That is a bit in contrast to Gerstein's claim that 25 million were homicidally gassed.
The gross absurdities in Gerstein's "report" compelled Léon Poliakov, the king of antirevisionist historians in France, to back-pedal and finally say that the star witness Kurt Gerstein had seen an extermination camp "only once and from a distance" ("qu'une seule fois, et d'un peu loin").

These desperate explanations fall apart completely if you go back and reread the original statements. This "only once and from a distance" is totally at odds with what's in Gerstein's statement (PS-1553).
Heckenholt was the man in charge of the ‘Diesel’ engine, the exhaust gases of which were to kill these poor devils. SS Unterscharfuehrer Heckenholt tries to set the Diesel engine moving. But it does not start! Captain Wirth comes along. It is plain that he is afraid because I am a witness to this breakdown. Yes, indeed, I see everything and wait. Everything is registered by my stopwatch. 50 minutes, 70 minutes – the Diesel engine does not start! The people wait in their gas chambers. In vain. One can hear them cry. ‘Same as in a synagogue’, says SS Sturmbannführer Professor Dr. Pfannenstiel, Professor for Public Health at the University of Marburg/Lahn, holding his ear close to the wooden door. Captain Wirth, furious, deals the Ukrainian who is helping Heckenholt 11 or 12 lashes in the face with his whip. After 2 hours and 49 minutes, as registered by my stopwatch, the Diesel engine starts. Up to that moment the people in the four already filled chambers were alive, 4 times 750 persons in 4 times 45 cubic meters. Another 25 minutes go by. Many of the people, it is true, are dead at that point. One can see this through the little window through which the electric lamp reveals, for a moment, the inside of the chamber. After 28 minutes only a few are living. After 32 minutes, finally, all are dead! From the other side, Jewish workers open the wooden doors.
He is describing direct, personal involvement in the gassings and claims he was right there tracking everything with the stopwatch.
Not only this, he claims that he was sent on a mission for the express purpose of reviewing the gassing procedure and helping transition the AR camp exterminations from diesel to Zyklon B. Observing the gassings was a major part of his mission (supposedly). The huge blunders in his statements are therefore completely inexcusable.
Globocnek then said: You will have to handle the sterilization of very huge quantities of clothes, 10 or 20 times the result of the clothes and textile collection (Spinnstoffsammlung) which is only arranged in order to conceal the source of these Jewish, Polish, Czech, and other clothes. Your other duties will be to change the method of our gas chambers (which are run at the present time with the exhaust gases of an old ‘Diesel’ engine), employing more poisonous material, having a quicker effect, prussic acid. But the Fuehrer and Himmler who were here on 15 August – the day before yesterday – ordered that I accompany personally all those who are to see the installations.

Archie, I think you misunderstand.
Léon Poliakov is calling his report made up bullshit.

Yes, I know. Poliakov was trying to save his own reputation when he abandoned Gerstein's silver bullet against the revisionist werewolves as he did. He was the 1st man who published Gerstein's testimony and the debunking of Gerstein's false statements threatened to damage his own reputation. In the pic posted above, you can also read "Faurisson m'attaquait, accusant Gerstein --- et donc moi --- de falsification," which translates as "[Robert] Faurisson attacked me, accusing [Kurt] Gerstein --- and so myself --- of falsification." When Léon Poliakov claimed that Gerstein had seen the alleged gas chambers of Belzec "only once and from a distance," he was patently trying to downplay the importance of Kurt Gerstein in the Holohoax fraud and so also his own involvement in that affair.

SS-Obersturmführer
Kurt Gerstein was a degreed mining engineer who had also studied tropical medicine extensively because he was an Evangelical Lutheran who wanted to become a medical missionary and redeem Brown people. World War II interfered with Gerstein's life, as it did for many in those days.
The SS was lucky to get him as a hygiene engineer, and his talents no doubt actually saved thousands of lives ─ although before the war he had taken part in some anti-government activism.
While in French military captivity in 1945, Gerstein was hoping to parlay his knowledge of fumigation and sanitation as grist for the upcoming Nazi war-crimes trials. But the French were not buying his Saint Gerstein act, the pious witness who tried to blow the whistle and stop the Genocide.
The "Gerstein Statement" does not bear even the mildest strutiny as a document ─ and once the German sanitation engineer manifest it in captivity at the end of the war, he was hardly more important to them than dead. Apparently Gerstein hanged himself in his cell at age 39, just weeks after the end of the war.
I highly recommend the PhD thesis (1985) of the late Henri Roques, which absolutely shreds the Gerstein Report. Roques' doctorate was issued in France and then revoked for obvious political reasons. I noticed that the 1989 version published in English is still available at Amazon.
