Use a HDD since it has unlimited read/writes and the data can be recovered even if it breaks, or use a separate SSD from the one your system is installed in (they break down due to their limited writes, so if you just write the data on it once it should last for a long time).
Usually SSDs fail less to my knowledge.
Cloud storage provider Backblaze has found its SSD annual failure rate was 0.98 percent compared to 1.64 percent for disk drives

Bitchute might be a reasonable alternative as well, but it seems you have to pay to host videos there.
In Odysee you must have some credits to upload videos, and that's why I don't use it much. In BitChute you can upload videos free of charge, but you can support them voluntarily. I have channels on all those platforms you mentioned, but AltCensored archives my content automatically.

There's also this "AltCensored" whose existence I learned only after checking out this "reccomended material" thread. I don't really know much about it.
It archives YouTube channels that are in danger of being removed, and publishes their videos when that kind of channel is removed. Some of my videos were on the AltCensored front page for a long time when my YT channel (with 93 subs) was removed, now they are on the second page. And yes, they are archived in Archive.org, if you click "open video in new tab" you can see that.

Also, the main concern seems to be over the wayback machine which makes it harder for them to memory hole/retcon things
I heard of wayback machine alternatives already. And the "memory hole" thing is a problem already for it, as I believe websites can email them to remove their content.

Here was a post I made at RODOH when the CODOH Library went down.
That looks like it would be good to put in the recommended materials thread or use the new wiki for it.

SSDs have a limited number of writes due to their technology while HDDs can last theoretically forever, but they are more fragile/prone to mechanical failure. My HDD has lasted for nearly 20 years now.
SSD technology would be better for archiving a "permanent file" like a video or book but not for making constant backups of things that change like websites (if you're going to delete the old backup and overwrite it with the new one)

So does this mean that deleted bitchute videos were either manually removed by the owner or censored? I found some old videos titled "Israeli professor shows there's no physical proof of the holocaust part 1-4" and they were deleted from bitchute except on some archive from like 8 years ago on the wayback machine. I downloaded them but I don't know if they're reliable as I haven't watched them yet.

Could be either way. I have never had any of my videos removed by BitChute to my knowledge. Some of my videos about William Luther Pierce have been "blocked" because of copyright things and all my videos are geographically restricted (you can't watch them in most European countries without a VPN). A member of the old Codoh Forum, Otium/HMS Endeavour, has had his channel removed by BitChute, though.
