Holocaust is a "myth" (CounterSpy magazine, 1976)

Post by Egg »

From a 1976 issue of CounterSpy, a publication run by whistleblowers with the purpose of frustrating the CIA by revealing the identities of its covert operatives:
The U.S. Census Bureau has been asked to include a question on religious affiliation in the 1980 census by 15 directors of the Religious Research Association. The question about religious affiliation was dropped from the 1960 and 1970 census due to the demand of Jewish groups. Revelation of the true number of Jews in the U.S. would undermine the myth that the Nazis killed six million Jews. The truth is, there are six million more Jews in the U.S. than Jewish organizations admit... The Immigration Service reports that there are 8 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. Actually, there are at least 14 million.

Ironically, this link to an archive of an anti-CIA magazine is hosted by the CIA.

Hi, Egg. Welcome to the forum.

This page is actually from a newsletter called Washington Observer. The name is at the top but it's obscured by the release stamp. The Washington Observer was operated by Willis Carto (the founder of the IHR) so it's not too surprising to find skeptical comments about the Holocaust in one of his publications. This would be around three years before the IHR was founded.

I would guess that the CIA has this in their files because of the last paragraph on the page talking about an outed CIA agent. I doubt they had much interest in the brief comments about the census. Government agencies collect all kinds news clippings, pamphlets, etc., but it can't really be read as an endorsement.

It is true that religion is not included on the US census. And it's also true that Jews have generally opposed including it. However the claim that all the six million ended up in the US illegally is rather dubious.

I would say this is an interesting example of early Holocaust revisionism.
