The Survivors Numbers Game

AS we joyously charge into the arrivals hall of Holocaust Remembrance Day (jan 27) it is worth once again considering the value of and importance of holocaust 'survivors'.
As my sub head sign off says 'Of the four million jews under German control, six million died and five million survived!'

But aren't they lamenting that survivors are dying and that denialism will gain ground?

This doesn't seem like the slam dunk you think it is.
Survivors in Israel < Survivors globally
192,000 < 400,000
That would make sense, unless I'm missing something?

A year ago they estimated 245,000 still alive, according to what I remember from an article in Deutsche Welle.
