Have any of you ever heard of the “mound of ashes” at Majdanek? I didn’t until having a debate with someone.

Ashes don't tell us much of anything, unless they are (at minimum) measured and verified as actual crematory remains in the precise locations where they are alleged to have been buried, etc. Creating a "mound of ashes" is akin to creating a "mound of shoes", which I notice is also featured in the article link you provided. We know the Germans were burning lots of things (as nations in similar situations have done), everything from confidential records to entire buildings in what has been called a "scorched earth" policy upon their retreat. Ashes were abundant. This does not tell us how many ashes of corpses are in any potential ashes located at Majdanek (assuming these ashes exist at all), nor what the backgrounds of these hypothetical corpses might have been. Corpses were everywhere during/after WW2, and cremation was the preferred method to control disease and dispose of the many thousands of corpses across any given territory. Claiming a "mound" and building a symbolic structure on top of it tells us nothing in particular, however it does align with the pattern of Allied/Jewish organizations preventing a more comprehensive, independent forensic investigation into claims of the so-called 'Holocaust'. The key questions we need to ask, I think, are:
  • Can we trust what they are claiming to be true, here?
  • Is their key focus to expose the objective truth, wherever it leads?
  • Are there potential conflicts of interest?
  • Can we trust the chain-of-custody in any proclaimed 'evidence'?
  • Who benefits from us believing this particular story? Is it the same people telling it?

Re: Majdanek Mound of Ash...of 1.4 million Dead

Post by DavidM »

The Mountain of ashes (allegedly of humans) was part of the Soviet/Polish propaganda that 1.4 million people
died at Majdanek...as presented in the Nuremberg Trial.
Such displays have become just an embarrassment now that the official figure of dead at Majdanek has been revised
downward to 78,000.

Soviet 'art'.

There's no telling what's all in there. I've seen various footage of it. There's sand, carbon, the odd bit of gravel here or there.

I'm sure there is some ash too.

Any cremains? Hard to tell without testing.

It was put up when the death toll was over 1,000,000, so, it had to be grandiose and over the top, like the claims.

How many gas chambers were there claimed initially? 7?

The death toll is much lower today and the claims are much less 'grand'.

If I recall correctly, Majdanek was removed from the list as an 'extermination camp'. I believe now it is simply considered a concentration and labor camp.

Of course, don't let that deter a good story. I'm sure people will spin yarn about how people had their brains bashed in by a masturbation machine while drinking their own pee for science.

So many things can turn to ashes, or does anyone think that only human bodies turn to ashes? Who can guarantee that the Soviets didn't have ashes from somewhere and transported them there? Or is that impossible?

I would assume the ash mound was set up by the museum at some point. They probably ordered some fill dirt.

I forgot to include. The person also brought up an alleged mass grave from Lopuchowo. Again I’ve never heard of this but upon some reading it is an alleged execution by the Einsatzkommando.

Could be worth discussing but best to start another thread if not clearly related to the Majdanek 'ash mound'.

Oddly enough they covered the mound to “conserve” it sort of what I believe they did in Kola Study.

https://www.majdanek.eu/en/news/preserv ... _ashes/877

That is odd to me. You’d figure they’d want to keep it in raw form to add that extra layer of somberness for camp visitors. Plus what’s there to be weary of conserving. The Prussian Blue stains on the fumigation chambers from Majdanek are still clearly visible and have never been conserved to my knowledge ;)
